The 6 th biennial International Conference in University Learning and Teaching ( InCULT 2012) is hosted by University Teknologi MARA, Malaysia in collaboration with University of Ohio, USA, University of Hertfordshire, UK and University of South Australia. The committee welcomes all participants to the city of Shah Alam Selangor from the 20-21 November 2012.
The aim of InCULT is to provide an opportunity for academicians and professionals from various educational fields with inter-discipinary interests to bridge the knowledge gap, promote scholarship and the evolution of pedagogy. InCULT 2012 invited research papers that encompass conceptual analysis, design implementation and performance evaluation that embraces the theme Empowering and Innovating Education for a sustainable future. The most often quoted sustainable development is development that "meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. This is in tandem with the Faculty of Education's (UiTM) wishes to make a meaningful contribution toward a sustainable future via the conference platform of promoting communication, learning and sharing of knowledge in our multiple roles as individuals, academicians and responsible members of communities.
The event was a raving success, with distinguished speakers giving invigorating speeches. Tan Sri Prof Ir. Dr. Sahol Hamid bin Abu Bakar, the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia gave the keynote address while Dr. Teresa Franklin from Ohio University, USA; Prof. Dr. Philip Woods from University of Hertfordshire, UK; and Associate Professor Faye McCallum from University of South Australia were the plenary speakers.
